From the speaker
Have you ever had a car accident or a fall in which seconds seemed to expand into minutes? Perhaps you’ve experienced a transcendence of time in deep meditation, under the influence of psychedelics, or in a near-death experience. Dr. Steve Taylor has spent many years collecting and analyzing reports of such ‘time expansion’ and ‘time cessation’ experiences. In this webinar – based on his new book Time Expansion Experiences: The Psychology of Time Perception and the Illusion of Linear Time – Steve will explain how and why such experiences arise in altered states of consciousness, and what they tell us about the nature of human consciousness, and of reality itself. Steve will suggest that time is spatial and panoramic in the spiritual dimension beyond our normal awareness. The past still exists, while the future already exists, in parallel with the present. This makes sense of precognition, retrocognition and the 'life review' often occurring during near-death experiences. Many theories and findings from modern physics suggest such a 'spatial' conception of time.
