SPR STUDY DAY 77 - REMEMBERING GUY LYON PLAYFAIR

Registration is closed for this event
Guy Lyon Playfair’s contributions to psychical research were many and of lasting importance.

His reputation was established with his first book The Flying Cow, based on his researches in Brazil. From that period also came his book Medium of the Century: Chico Xavier about Brazil’s most famous medium. On returning to England he became involved in the famous Enfield poltergeist investigation, leading to his book This House is Haunted. He then published a study of hypnosis If this be Magic: The Forgotten Power of Hypnosis. His last book Twin Telepathy was based on his study of twins and led to extensive follow-up work. In this study day, friends and colleagues will describe how his books on these topics led to further research. His extensive time with Uri Geller and musical activities will also be discussed. The day will end with a general discussion and audience participation.

Note that the 2019 AGM of the Society will follow this meeting, commencing at 5:15 p.m.
